Stifles セイザクン
The Stifles or as the Japanese may call them "Seiza-Kun" are little creatures who spend all of their time kneeling and watching human activities. Their favorite spots are public spaces like coffee bars, windows and shop displays. They love to get taken around by you since they won't move.
It is not known where they originally came from, but they seem to have adopted certain aspects of human culture. Graphic design studio Büro Destruct reveals 16 from an unknown amount of different species to be uncovered.
History
Lopetz, co-founder of renowned Swiss graphic design studio "Büro Destruct" designed the Stifles characters while working in Japan in the year 2007. The typical Japanese tradition of kneeling on tatami matts while eating and talking inspired the Swiss designer to create tow series of Stifles characters based on a minimal, gemoetric design.
Carsten Rosenbohm from Frankfurt’s toy company "Neue Freunde" created the prototype and "IdN" from Hong Kong took care of the production.
